The Tikun Leil Shavuot takes place this Motzei Shabbat/Sunday morning 26/27th May, with learning through the night for the whole community starting at 12:30am, This is the custom of staying up learning Torah all night on the first night of Shavuot to compensate for the fact that the children of Israel overslept on the morning they were to receive the Torah in the wilderness on Shavuot. There will be shiurim / classes led by Rabbi Lerer, Mark Creeger and Aaron Rosenberg with plenty of coffee and cake available throughout the night. Shacharit will follow at 3:05am. Even if you are unable to last the WHOLE night, why not come along for at least part of the night!
On 1st Day Shavuot, Sunday 27th May, there will be a Baby Blessing for all the babies born recently in the Community and everyone is invited to stay for Kiddush
On 2nd Day Shavuot, Monday 28th May, we will be holding an Hachnasat Sefer Torah to dedicate a sefer torah donated by Ken & Sandra Brookes in loving memory of their late parents Lily & Harry Brookes and Fay & Michael Sinclair. After the service, Rochelle & Paul Kleinman, commemorating the yahrzeit of Rochelle’s late father next Sunday, invite the Community to join them for Kiddush.
